The topic has to do with statistics for psychology.
We can discuss possible questions, answers and generally brainstorm.
However, i want to remind you that this is not an official page by the university, the college, or the lecturers. So what we are discussing is not a fact and should not be taken for granted. It has to do with the process of brainstorming, communicating, bringing together ideas and knowledge

morning pal! well mainly he told us that to focus on Chi-Square which will be in our exams. As arman said whitney is out!!

From my point of view, we should focus on the interpretation of the results and to understand that we use the Crosstabs command when we have one or more variables and the Chi-Square command when we have only one variable.

but i can not remember anything else....i think arman and sanja were paying attention more than i did Embarassed Embarassed tongue lol!

And what we should study from the theory part, for the qualitative research? You think it is enough to read only the slides? Question Smile

as i can remember he did not talked about qualitative/quantitative .....

i think the slides are quite good because they explain the most important. however, because i believe that the way we use statistics is like a monkey would use them i.e. we repeat what we see, i am always trying to understand the meaning of the statistical analysis and the what we are doing, but because i fail to do that i learn some things by hard....
i hope the websites i uploaded yesterday will help you
but i am not so comfortable with statistical questions....

Do we know anything about the format of the exams? Is it gonna questions and pick some of the them?Is it going to include theoretical questions?

I just checked the previous years exams and:

They had them in the lab.
They included one theoretical question and 3 exercises.

1. For One way ANOVA we will have:
a) state the null and alternate hypotheses
b) Does A play a significant role on B? Explain why?

2. For Two Way ANOVA:
a)maybe we will have to complete a table (with MS for example)
b) determine whether F obt is significant.

3.For the Linear Regression
a)state null and alternate hypotheses.
b)R square value- the significance of the regression
c) the value of the constant and the slope

4. For Chi Square
a) Pearson Chi Sqaure and significance must be reported
(Here I guess we ll have to report like in the results part of the evolutionary lab)

For Qualitative research there will be multiple-choice questions, more exactly 2 questions.

Ohh... just not to confuse you. I was not at the tutorial. I thought Kyriakos referred to the revision class. Now I realised...

Anyway, this is what we will have. About Power Analysis I don t know anything for sure, but I think it will be also in exams questions.

I was in the revision class too. He mentioned these things that you wrote before. So there is nothing special to read, just know how to report the findngs. He said that there will be power analysis and qualitative multiple questions, but not many 2-3. So good luck to everybody Very Happy

oh! i have a question guys! In one way anova in the first question state null and alternate hypotheses, he told in the revision that we have to say only the two definitions. Do we have also to say whether we accept or not the null hypothesis by looking at the p value? If not, in which question do we have to say that Question

null and alternate hypothesis are just two other hypothesis. from this point you either accept them or not, by doing the statical analyses. so if he asks, in the interpretation part, we have to include in our answer with which hypothesis we agree or disagree and why.
